A Healthy Diet for Good Vision

The Dangers of a Poor Diet


A diet that is full of free radicals can actually compromise healthy vision, as it can lead to a build up of free radicals in the body.  Malnutrition can also lead to various eye problems. Further, issues like cataracts can be caused from a lack of vitamins.


Also be sure to eat a diet that is not high in fat. Getting too much fat and cholesterol in your body can cause fatty deposits in the macular vessels. Also keep in mind that it is important to avoid activities like smoking, which interferes with the eye’s ability to clean itself.


Often healthy vision deteriorates with age, as many seniors end up with age related macular degeneration. However, getting the right nutrients and taking supplements for vision can delay or even prevent this problem.
