Fad Diets Versus Healthy Weight Loss
What percentage of the population is over weight? What percentage is what is referred to as morbidly obese? I don’t know the answer to either of those questions, but from looking around me, I would venture to say “a lot”.
I personally have struggled with weight since my early adult years, and have tried so many different pills and diets that I could never recall them all. So, in my opinion, that makes me an expert. (Of course, this is just my opinion).
After having my daughter, my personal physician put me on a popular prescription diet pill. The result was weight loss, AND increased blood pressure, irritability, and increased heart rate. Ultimately, after being taken off of the pill for safety reasons, I gained the weight back. What a surprise!
Then I realized something. Something I think it takes years for any person trying to lose weight to realize. What I finally understood was that first of all, I was in control. I was in control of what I was eating and when I was eating it. What had I been lacking all of those years? Simply put, it was the discipline it requires to succeed in this kind of job. Job you ask? Yes, I say. Because to me, losing weight has been one huge LONG job at which
I only succeeded after much hard work and discipline.
Above I said I felt like I was an expert. But in reality, I am just one of the hundreds of thousands of people who struggle every day of every year to maintain a weight at which they are happy inside and out.
No nonsense involved, you can really honestly lose weight with a minimal amount of exercise and eating a healthy, balanced diet. Many programs available today seem to make promises that are unrealistic and completely false, but you CAN lose weight and lose fat by learning and practicing the proper information and tools that are available via simple food and exercise plans. So many REAL programs are out there, it is just a matter of realizing that pills for weight loss are just not safe and most importantly are not even NECESSARY.
I am positive that there are many people who can see through my eyes, and hopefully will realize what I have after many years of failed attempts. I pass my story on to as many as I can, and maybe someday you can do the same!
